Aww thank you! /blushes
I’m still in high school, so I’m not really sure how college would view this, but I can answer from my perspective? This past season, we had a novice coxswain this year who was about 120 and not a single rower complained, nor did I catch any coaches commenting on her weight. From what I’ve seen, while weight does matter, it’s a lot less important than how well you can motivate your rowers. I’d rather pull a coxswain who weighs 10 pounds more over a 100 pound coxswain who doesn’t say much.
Make sure you’re talking with your coaches so you can figure out where they want you to be! If you do decide to drop some weight, please make sure you do it in a healthy way! I strongly recommend working out with the team, it makes the boat bonding a lot easier and you can figure out how to talk to each individual.
I hope this helped a little! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask and I’ll reach out to people with a little more knowledge?
